“Overgrown” is a stunning short film by writer-director Cailleah Scott-Grimes. I was honoured to compose the score for members of Tyva Kyzy – the first and only women’s group in Tuva who perform all styles of Tuvan throat-singing. The film, which features June Garber in the lead role, premiered at The Concert Hall on June 1st, 2022 – presented by Sing! The Toronto Vocal Arts Festival. It has since been featured at the Kingston Canadian Film Festival, the Women’s International Film & Arts Festival in New York City, and was awarded ‘Best Director’ at WIFT (Women in Film and Television Toronto).
