In a moment of desperation, a single mom fabricates an honourable life (and death) for her son’s estranged father, the fallout of which changes the course of their lives for the next 25 years. But Why/Because is a new five-hander musical dramedy about a fraught mother/son relationship. Book and Lyrics by Kaitlyn Riordan, Music and Lyrics by Aaron Jensen. The piece is currently being developed by the Capitol Theatre Creators’ Unit which will culminate in a reading in October 2026.
