The cat’s out of the bag! Thank you PLAYBILL for the lovely write-up.
Aaron is delighted to join forces with L.A. screenwriter and playwright, Steven Peros, for the new Hearst/Davies/Chaplin musical, The Cat’s Meow. Published by Samuel French (now Concord Theatricals) and produced in seven countries thus far, The Cat’s Meow involves a murder that many believe took place in 1924 on board William Randolph Hearst’s 220 foot yacht, Oneida, while celebrating the birthday of fading mogul, Thomas Ince. Among the passengers were Hearst’s mistress, Marion Davies, Charlie Chaplin, and columnist Louella Parsons. The play was later adapted by Peros into the 2002 Lionsgate film, starring Kirsten Dunst, Eddie Izzard, Jennifer Tilly and Cary Elwes, and directed by the Oscar-nominated director, Peter Bogdanovich. The new musical version ofThe Cat’s Meow will be presented to producers in early 2025.
